OYO is Not Your Case

Hahaaa. The picture above is what temptation looks like to me… I used to be a nutella addict at some point in my life. (Nutella is a chocolate spread, just in case…). It was terrible, everyone was scared for me. It was my stress relief food. I’d take it every single day and could eat nutella with everything. Yes. But then, after a while of this continuous sugar intake, the price increased drastically 😂 and as the economist that I am, I couldn’t afford to buy it anymore. Ain’t God good? 😩 So, I had to displine myself. I overcame it! Lol, I think that’s somehow in line with where I’m going right now.

No temptation regardless of its source has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance; but God is faithful to His word–He is compassionate and trustworthy, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability to resist, but along with the temptation He has in the past and is now and will always provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy. 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 AMP

Can you now see that it’s not only you it’s doing? Put yourself together please. OYO is not your case. No temptation (test, trial, situation, circumstance, whatever…) doing you now that has not done other people and they overcame it. You’re not the first neither are you the only one. Have you ever been in some situations that seemed so difficult you thought you won’t come out alive? Well, you’re reading this so I’m sure you pulled through. Or maybe you had a really embarrassing experience and swore never to show your face in public again. Ever done something wrong and felt like disappearing into thin air so you won’t face the consequences? You didn’t. Life goes on still. So dear brother or sister you can overcome!

Really, there’s nothing new under the sun.  There’s not a degree of sin/temptation that has the ability to overcome you. You’re strong enough you’ve just failed to realize and accept it.  The Bible makes that clear in 1 Corinthians 10:13-15. God, who is faithful, WILL NOT allow you to be tempted beyond what you can handle. With every temptation is a way of escape. No matter the degree of the temptation or frequency of it, God has provided you a way out. If we can be real for a moment, we often see the way of escape, but allow the temptation to overtake us. God IS faithful. Don’t think for one moment that He isn’t able to deliver you from where you are. Be it drug addiction, masturbation, depression, gluttony or whatever God IS able. God is able to deliver you from whatever it is you’re struggling with, whether it’s an acknowledged or ignored struggle. He IS able.

Be conscious today that the reason you’re qualified to go through certain trials is because you can overcome them. God is a finisher, he sees the end from the beginning and won’t begin if there is no end. So if we only go through trials we can come out of, what then is the point of crisis in our life?

Crisis is the promotional phase of life. Temptations or tests are like the exams we write in other to be promoted to the next class/level. No teacher will give you an exam that is totally “impossible” for you to pass. It might be very tough or difficult. You might even fail and repeat the class but that doesn’t mean the exam was impossible, if it was the entire class will repeat that class. You didn’t just prepare well enough. So as students in the school of life, we should be excited during exams because it’s what qualifies us for the next level.

Don’t be a Jonah and think you can run from facing trials. Have it in mind that there’s no place you can go to escape God’s authority and reign. Everything that exists is under His rule. He has the power to deliver and save to the utmost. I pray that you be encouraged today to rely on God’s power in your life to deliver you from whatever you may be dealing with right now.
